Notes for RD-SMB (Braided) & RD-SM (Unbraided) Flexible Sprinkler Connectors:
These flexible sprinkler connectors may be used in applications where little or no differential movement between the two ends is expected after installation (e.g. supply to single sprinklers in suspended ceilings).
1. Rapidrop RD-SMB (braided) flexible sprinkler connectors are approved for use in the following applications:
Rapidrop RD-SM (unbraided) sprinkler connectors are approved for use in the following applications:
Pipework supplying Rapidrop flexible sprinkler connector assemblies in pre-calculated systems shall be sized as distribution mains. The above applications apply to Rapidrop flexible sprinkler connectors with:
* up to 1 x 90˚ bends, with a straight or 90˚ elbow reducer
** up to 2 x 90˚ bends, with a straight or 90˚ elbow reducer
*** up to 3 x 90˚ bends, with a straight or 90˚ elbow reducer
2. In suspended ceilings Rapidrop RD-SMB flexible sprinkler connectors must be installed in accordance with the Rapidrop installation instructions, Datasheet 3.11, issue F and Rapidrop RD-SM flexible sprinkler connectors must be installed in accordance with the Rapidrop installation instructions, Datasheet 3.10, issue A.
3. In suspended ceilings the outlet reducer must be secured to the ceiling support system with brackets supplied. For other applications the installer must supply brackets to ensure the sprinkler is secure.
