We have redesigned the website to make it more intuitive and easier to use. We have reduced the number of clicks required to search for Products, Services and Companies Listed in the LPCB Red Book Database. There are six main navigation menu's.

Search our Listings; This is the area of the site where all of the Products and Services are Listed. You can search our database by Product, Service, Company or check whether a certificate is valid. You can also search by Red Book section. There are more specific details on searching RedBookLive below.

Certification Schemes; In this area, you read about the Certification Schemes run by BRE Global and get an understanding of the schemes which Products and Services must comply with to be listed in the Red Book.

Knowledge Base; In this area you will find information on training and events, download copies of Loss Prevention Standards, BREEAM, Greenbooklive, Sustainability and order free copies of the Red Book.

Information and News; In this area, you can find out about our Governance, our Marks, Suspensions and Withdrawals, Latest News, Jobs and details of how to Contact us.

Get Certified; In this area you can find out how to get approved/certified.

About us; In this area, you will read about our History, what standards we approve to and some business particulars.

Searching RedBookLive

We have improved the search functions on redbooklive to make it easier to search for approved products or services. You can either click on the appropriate image or use the 'Search our listings' menu, the results are the same. There are a number of different searches to find the information you require:

1. Search using 'Search our listings'

Using the ‘Search our Listings' menu, the following product groupings can be searched.

Passive Fire Products
Fire Detection Products
Fire Resistant Cables
Automatic Sprinkler Systems
Security Protection Products
Installation, Service and Maintenance
Management Systems
Construction Products
Fixed Fire Fighting Systems

These Groupings are further subdivided (in a second level menu) into specific product areas. This can be done by clicking the first level menu item. For example, if you click on Security systems, a second level menu will appear with Electronic Security and Physical Security.

2. Find a product or service by certificate number

If you know the certificate number of the Product, Service or Company. Simply select ‘Search by Certificate Number' from the menu on the left hand side of the page. Then enter the certificate number in the required field and click on the 'search' button.

3. Search by Red Book Section

This search function allows the user to browse the Red Book by ‘Part' and by ‘Section'. Therefore, if you want to find all of the products listed in Part 1, (Fire Detection Products), Section 7 (Line Units), simply select ‘Fire detection Products' from the menu . This will bring you to the search page for this section. Then select ‘Line Units' from the drop down list and click on search. You can narrow the search by entering a product name, company name or certificate number in the required fields.

4. Search by company name

Under the ‘Search our Listings’ menu, you can search our database if you know the name of the company. Simply select ‘Search by Company Name’ in the drop down menu then enter the name of the company and click on the ‘search’ button.

5. Advanced search

You can use this function to search across all of Redbooklive listings. You can search iwthin a Red Book part, enter a company name, part of a company name, certificate number, part of an address etc.

6. Global Search

On the top righthand corner of every page there is a ‘Search' box. This search function allows you to search the content of the website for any keyword entered. It will allow you to search the Red Book Database for ‘Products' or ‘Companies'. Therefore, if you would like to search the database for a particular company, enter the company name in the box and click the enter button. The search results will categorise the results into; Main Pages (website content), Products and Companies (Listed in the database). Under each of these headings it will list the number of results found for each of these headings. Click on the number to view the results.
