NAADUK recommends gaining LPS 2084

The Chairman of Overclean, Peter Reid, was presented with an LPS 2084 certificate by BRE Global MD Debbie Smith at an open day marking 20 years of the BRE Trust. LPS 2084 defines LPCB requirements for approving companies carrying out inspection, cleaning and maintenance of ductwork systems that may be contaminated with combustible deposits. Speaking as President of NAADUK, Mr Reid said, “I will be recommending that NAADUK members obtain this standard”. Read more

Visit from Hong Kong Fire Services Department

Senior officers from the Licensing and Certification Command Policy Division of the Hong Kong Fire Services Department recently visited BRE Global in Watford. LPCB approved fire products and services continue to be highly ranked by Hong Kong fire authorities, and therefore accepted for building and infrastructure projects in the territory. A presentation on the LPCB certification process was followed by a tour of the extensive fire test laboratories.

Promoting LPCB in China and South-East Asia

Graham Orme, BRE Global International Director, has been promoting LPCB certificated products and services during visits to Indonesia, Vietnam and China. He has attended the Indofirex fire safety exhibition in Jakarta, the Secutech fire and safety exhibition in Saigon, and the China Fire exhibition, at which BRE Global exhibited, in Beijing. Update: BS 8414 cladding testing

During the months following the Grenfell Tower fire, BRE has carried out ACM screening tests and large-scale BS 8414 fire tests on cladding systems on behalf of DCLG. The large-scale test programme is now complete and BRE is taking action to expedite the BS 8414 customer testing that was postponed during that time. Read more
