See live attack testing at IFSEC

You can witness live attack testing by BRE’s security experts at this year’s IFSEC event (next to the LPCB Pavilion, B1450), where there will be at least two attack tests each day - watch this space for information on timings and the products being tested. Red Book listed clients also have the opportunity to promote their security and fire safety products and services at the international 2017 IFSEC and FIREX events as part of ‘The LPCB RedBookLive Pavilion’. LPS 1175 doors specified for Qatar World Cup

Qatar plans to build nine new stadiums and renovate three, at an estimated cost reported to be around $3 billion, distributed among the seven cities hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The organisers have specified (see here page 36) the sourcing and instillation of LPS 1175 (intruder resistance) security rated doors – an estimated 800 units to be procured in 2018.

Flameshield Products first to gain approval to EN for fire and smoke ducts

Flameshield Products is the first company to achieve LPCB certification to EN 1366 for their vertical and horizontal insulated and non-insulated fire resistant and smoke extract ducts. Read more

Visit to Jakarta

Graham Orme, International Director for BRE Global, visited Jakarta, Indonesia in February and met with the Jakarta Fire Service, the Association of Indonesian Consultants, the Indonesian Institution of Engineers and Standards Indonesia. Graham was also invited to the National Firefighter Day celebrations at the Indonesian National Monument in Jakarta. LPCB certification is accepted by the Indonesian Fire Authorities who are the Authority Having Jurisdiction.

Middle East Electricity, Dubai, 14-16 February

Middle East Electricity (MEE) is a major show covering some 65,000sqm and housing more than 1,600 exhibitors from 60 countries. Many of our Red Book listed clients sell into the Middle East and our presence at MEE provided a great opportunity to promote these listings, and to give support to the Red Book clients who were also exhibiting. Visit to Oman Cables

Whist our team was in Dubai for the MEE show (see above) Oman Cables, one of our Red Book listed companies, invited Jenny Morris, Damien Ward and Ed Gaynor to visit their manufacturing and testing facilities in Muscat, Oman. The day before the show opening, they were taken on a tour of their hosts' new fire and mechanical testing facilities and were very impressed. Oman Cables warmly invited them back for the grand opening of their expanded factory later this year.

Security & Policing 2017, Farnborough UK, 7-9 March

Security & Policing is an annual Home Office event held at Farnborough. It is supported by DIT (Dept. for International Trade), which arranges incoming high level delegations from countries across the world wishing to do business with UK companies, and to draw on their security expertise. Five of the seven fatal fires which took place in London since the turn of the year have been due to the lack of a smoke alarm, according to new figures released by London Fire Brigade. Read more
